Topography in time and space

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the rich history of the Plateau du Saint-Esprit, walking through its ancient walls where time becomes a living landscape.
Through a play of dynamic light, scenography, and immersive sound, the site transforms between two eras – the monastic and the fortress – bringing centuries-old stone back to life.

The remains of five centuries form a walk-in stage. Visitors follow the nuns’ footsteps through the historic cloister, surrounded by evocative soundscapes and lighting that shift from monastery to fortress and back again.Transparent gauze curtains and choreographed projections reconstruct the outlines of lost buildings. Fictional voices of historical figures and moving light silhouettes animate these spectral scenes, creating a continuous, sensory journey through time and space.
